Altos Del Cuco
A blend of Monastrell, Syrah, and Tempranillo vinified entirely in stainless steel, Altos del Cuco shows abundant aromas of mature fruit, particularly blackberries complemented by subtle nuances of vanilla and cinnamon. Slightly tannic and fleshy on the palate with a well-balanced acidity and an elegant finish, this wine pairs well with a wide variety of dishes.

Bright ruby. Spicy red fruits on the nose and palate. Light-bodied and easygoing, with good finishing clarity and decent length. Very good value here.

Interesting aromas of brick dust, mint, fall lead and dried fruit seem traditional and familiar. The palate is tight, tannic and rubbery, with roasted, savory flavors of spiced berry and plum. Oak, prune and fig notes work the firm finish.

Deep ruby. Ripe blackcurrant and cherry on the nose, with smoky herb and cured meat qualities adding complexity. On the wild side, offering deep dark fruit flavors and a distinctly smoky character. The finish repeats the cherry note and leaves a touch of peppery spice behind. Very Old World in style and suited to grilled or braised red meats.

Plum and blackberry jump to the forefront in this nice blend, and are joined by more berries and vanilla on the palate.

A smooth wine for the price where all the dots connect. The nose has black cherry and raisin, while the palate is lush, deep and concentrated, with rewarding flavors of cherry, cassis and roasted plum. Lasting on the finish, with a licorice flavor. Very good wine for the money; Monastrell/ Syrah/ Tempranillo is the blend.

Recommended. Spanish red wine value.

Good but basic wine from southern Spain that shows cherry aromas with a citrusy twist. The mix is Monastrell with Syrah and Tempranillo, and as a whole it is composed, with berry, plum and other straightforward flavors. A plump, friendly sort of wine.
