Château Beaulieu
Rosé Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence AOC 2010
Vineyards:
Situated in the town of Rognes in the region of Provence, Château Beaulieu is the largest estate in the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence appellation of southeastern France. Planted on mostly western-facing slopes at an elevation of 400 meters above sea level on an old volcanic crater, the vines are trained using the cordon de royat method at a density of 4000 vines/hectare. The soil composition ranges throughout the estate from calcareous clay to volcanic basalt.

- pH: 3.3
- Residual Sugar: 1.4 grams/liter
- Acidity: 5.4 grams/liter
- Dry Extract: 19.6 grams/liter
Winemaking:
Each variety was vinified separately to preserve its natural characteristics. Harvested at optimal maturity beginning in late August and continuing through the end of October. The grapes were direct-pressed and cold-settled for 12-24 hours in stainless steel tanks. Fermentation took place over 12 days at 14-18°C in stainless steel tanks, followed by 2-3 months of aging. It was filtered and fined then blended.
Tasting Notes:
A subtle, yet expressive nose with hints of strawberry. Crisp red fruit flavors carry through to the palate.
Food Pairings:
Ideal as an aperitif or when served as an accompaniment to grilled fish and crustaceans. Also excellent with fruit-based desserts.
