This line was named 347 to represent the number of vineyards that De Martino has vinified thus far throughout Chile in search of the best terroirs. The concept reflects Chile’s diversity and De Martino’s pioneering spirit.
Vineyards:
Produced from carefully selected parcels of fruit from different valleys: 16 hectares in the Maipo Valley, 5 hectares in the Maule Valley, and 6 hectares in the Cachapoal Valley. Planted at altitudes of 245-350 meters above sea level using the trellis training method with an average density of 4166 vines/hectare, the soil is mostly of alluvial origin with granite components.

Winemaking:
After careful selection and sorting through a manual harvest carried out at the end of April, the grapes underwent a cold maceration for 7 days at 8-10°C in stainless steel tanks prior to fermentation. Over a period of 9 days, fermentation took place at 26-28°C, followed by maceration for 28 days with periodic pump-overs and aeration. Full malolactic fermentation occurred. Fifty percent of the wine was aged in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels of 2nd, 3rd, and 4th use for 6 months before being blended with the unoaked juice. Filtered and refrigerated prior to bottling, the wine was cellared an additional 3 months in bottle.
Tasting Notes:
Brilliant red in color with hints of violet. The nose is intense and harmoniously balanced with nuances of spice and fresh red fruits. A hint of vanilla is added through the oak aging. In the mouth it is fresh, full-bodied, and spicy with well integrated flavors of vanilla and chocolate.
Food Pairings:
Enjoy with most grilled fare, particularly steaks and sausages. Also try with sweetbreads.
