Description:
The Cabernet vines, Sauvignon and Franc, were introduced to Friuli from Bordeaux around 1820. They were officially recognized by the Royal Academy of Viticulture and Enology in Conegliano in 1877. Cabernet enjoys the rocky soil and hillsides of Grave del Friuli. Due Torri Cabernet has a character of its own. Ruby red in hue with violet overtones, it has a spicy nose with nuances of raspberries and blackberries. The wine is complex, earthy and herbaceous in taste with a lingering finish. Due Torri Cabernet is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon and will develop in the bottle for up to five years.
Characteristics:
Due Torri Cabernet has good varietal character, a ruby to purple color, and a bouquet of raspberries and wild blackberries. The taste is earthy and slightly tannic with a lingering finish. Due Torri Cabernet will develop for 4-5 years.
Food Match:
This wine is wonderful with roasted meats and poultry, game birds, lamb, sausages, and stews, especially Hungarian Goulash.
