Due Torri
Pinot Noir delle Venezie 2009
- 100% Pinot Noir
Description:
Pinot Noir is one of the worlds oldest grape varieties and has been produced in Italy since the first century AD. Great skill is required to produce a good Pinot Noir. The early budding makes it susceptible to spring frosts and the thin skin tends to over-ripen quite easily. Due Torri Pinot Noir is harvested in early September. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures following six to eight days of cold maceration. In order to showcase the fruit flavors of the wine it is not aged in wood barrels. Due Torri Pinot Noir is bottled in the spring and released in the early summer.
Characteristics:
Due Torri Pinot Noir has a bright ruby color and the rich bouquet of fruits and berries. On the palate it has balanced fruit flavors with hints of cedar and spice followed by soft tannins.
Food Match:
Pinot Noir is an excellent complement to grilled red meats, game, and poutlry dishes.
