Altadonna
Italy
Stefano Chioccioli, one of Italy’s leading enologists and agronomists, is bottling wines that portray the unique and diverse terroirs of Italy under his own label -- Altadonna. After a distinguished 25-year career working for some of the most prestigious, internationally-acclaimed estates throughout Italy, he is now working alongside his enologist son, Niccoló, to produce wines for everyday consumption that capture the essence of Italy. Niccoló has followed in his father’s footsteps earning a degree in enology from the same University, but he insists that it was his father that truly taught him the essentials of making and understanding wine.
According to Stefano “the role of a winemaker is to enhance the land where he works” by creating wines with “the maximum quality expression of the area.” The Altadonna line features six wines made from the principle grape varietals of Italy in their purity. From Pinot Grigio in the Tre Venezie to Nero d’Avola in Sicily, each wine reflects his expertise in working with the various and distinct regions of Italy.
Anna Altadonna -- Stefano’s beloved wife -- was the inspiration for these wines. Her integrity is the same quality the family hopes to encapsulate in every bottle.
