The Portier family has been producing outstanding Quincy for many generations and Philippe is charged with carrying on the tradition of excellence. He has won many awards and is considered the preeminent winemaker in the region. The 45 acres Victoires estate is located in the heart of the Quincy region with vineyards planted on the hills along the west bank of the Cher River. The name translates to “Field of the victories” and was an ancient battleground. The winery is located within a restored Berrichonne farm house. The ancient façade belies the state-of-the-art winery within. Temperature controlled stainless steel fermentation and storage tanks and computerized ambient temperature give Mr. Portier complete control over each phase of the winemaking process. The sand and gravel soil, the optimal exposure, and the proximity to the river provide excellent conditions for the production of world-class Sauvignon Blanc.
