Translated as “great reputation,” Château Grand Renom was named for its excellent location in eastern Bordeaux along the banks of the Dordogne River in the town of Eynesse of southwest France. The Château itself was built in the late 18th century, while the winery was founded in 1861.
When House Antoine Moueix purchased the property, they took great care in restructuring the winery and vineyards to optimize the quality of the wines. Today, the estate is comprised of 40 hectares of vines planted in a limestone plateau with deep underlying layers of clay and silt that give the wines complexity and minerality.
In the vineyard, they practice sustainable methods of viticulture to protect the environment. In the cellar, they apply classic Bordeaux winemaking techniques.
