Carpineto Farnito Vinsanto del Chianti

The name Farnito is derived from a type of oak tree known as Farna found in the vicinity of the vineyards. Carpineto produces Farnito Vinsanto del Chianti in only the finest vintages.  The aromatics are complex opening with jammy stone fruit notes followed by hints of walnut and subtle floral nuances. Malvasia and Trebbiano grapes are dried for a period of time prior to vinification in chestnut and oak barrels that lasts more than a decade, this dessert wine has a long, persistent finish defined by apricot, peach, and balsamic flavors.

Decanter - Bronze Medal

Hints of coconut, almonds, candied peel. Fresh, restrained style. Nuts, mamalade, strong fruits but still has plenty of freshness.

Wine Spectator - 92 pts

This is ethereal, with bright acidity focusing the toffee, smoke, molasses and iodine flavors. Showing fine intensity on a spry frame, this offers balance and a long, nutty, savory finish. Moderately sweet. Drink now.
