Nero

Native to southern Italy, the Negroamaro grape is the main varietal in this red wine blend. Aged in new French barriques and oak barrels, this full-bodied red boasts bold red fruit aromas, interlaced with notes of spices and hints of vanilla and licorice. Conti Zecca Nero is soft and harmonious on the palate with well-structured, mature tannins and a long, persistent finish. This wine is a nice complement to grilled red meats, pasta dishes with meat-based or spicy sauces, and aged cheeses.

…a gorgeous blend of 70% Negroamaro and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon… Among the various red wines produced in Puglia, Nero is among the most sophisticated on a consistent basis each year. I am particularly pleased to see how the Negroamaro grape shows in this vintage. The wine is toned and dark with a sense of austerity and focus that comes as a surprise. Negroamaro’s sweet fleshiness pairs nicely next to the tannic firmness of Cabernet Sauvignon. In all, this wine shows a great sense of balance and proportion.

A blend of Negroamaro and Cabernet Sauvignon, this has amazing softness, with plush aromas of cherry, chocolate and sweet spice. The mouthfeel is clean and rich. This is one of the best wines from Puglia currently on the market.
