Ruca Malen Classic Red Blend

This full-bodied blend is defined by ripe cherry and plum aromas accented by spicy notes. Fresh, sweet tannins are perfectly balanced by vibrant acidity. The engaging finish is enhanced by mild toasted notes from 6 months of aging in 20% French oak and 80% in stainless steel, after fermenting in stainless steel.

Juicy and fruity, with red raspberry flavors that are smooth and spicy. Light creamy notes show on the plush finish.

The 2011 Yauquen Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon is an equal blend of both varieties from the Uco Valley that sees a judicious 20% aged in barrel for six months. It has a lovely, open-knit bouquet with scents of redcurrant, wild strawberry and violet that is very well-defined. The palate has a soft, powdery entry. It is well-balanced with earthy red berry fruit laced with cedar and sandalwood that leads to a refined, understated but elegant finish. This is excellent value for the price. Drink now-2016.

The nose is jammy and slightly medicinal at first, but then plum and berry aromas settle. This feels firmly tannic and mouthfilling, with baked berry and roasted plum flavors. The finish is hard and strapping, with excess power.

Bold, aggressive and fiery on the nose, but also loaded with berry and cherry aromas that are spunky and inviting. The palate has a pulpy, grapey feel that is apropos for the wine’s solid plum and berry flavors. Slightly herbal on the finish courtesy of the Cab in this 50/50 blend. Good stuff for everyday usage.
